Logitech G RS50 Direct Drive: finally real DD from Logitech

Logitech G RS50 Direct Drive review 2025: 8 Nm direct drive wheelbase with TRUEFORCE. Console and PC compatible. Comparison with Fanatec CSL DD and Moza R5. Now available.

After years of belt-driven wheels, Logitech is finally entering the Direct Drive market with the Logitech G RS50. This isn’t just an upgrade - it’s a complete redefinition of what you can expect from Logitech. With 8 Nm of force, their patented TRUEFORCE technology, and support for all platforms, the RS50 is a serious competitor to Fanatec and Moza.

What makes the RS50 special?

TRUEFORCE technology

The biggest difference from the competition is Logitech’s TRUEFORCE system. While standard force feedback works with game signals, TRUEFORCE processes both the physics and sound of the game at frequencies up to 4,000 Hz. The result? You don’t just feel the tires slip, but also the engine vibrating, the road surface, and even curbs - details that are lost with other wheelbases.

Games that support TRUEFORCE (Gran Turismo 7, iRacing, F1 series) deliver a noticeably richer experience. For unsupported games, you get standard FFB.

OLED display on the base

A unique feature: the RS50 has an integrated OLED display that lets you adjust settings directly on the wheelbase. Force feedback gain, TRUEFORCE intensity, damping - all adjustable without leaving your game. On console (where G HUB isn’t available), this is particularly useful.

Multi-platform support

Unlike Moza (PC-only), Logitech offers versions for all platforms:

  • PC: All variants work
  • PlayStation 5/4: Specific PS version required
  • Xbox Series/One: Specific Xbox version required

This makes the RS50 the most versatile direct drive in this price range.

Who is the RS50 suitable for?

Perfect for:

  • Logitech G923/G29 users looking to upgrade
  • Console racers who want Direct Drive
  • Racers who appreciate plug-and-play convenience
  • TRUEFORCE fans (unique to Logitech)

Less suitable for:

  • Pure PC racers on a tight budget (Moza R5 is cheaper)
  • Racers already in the Fanatec/Moza ecosystem
  • Users without a sturdy desk or rig
